The Church
When the Earl of Breadalbane provided the money for a new church at Dalmally, early in the 19th century, he also instructed his favourite architect, James Eliot, to design it. This was done in the fashionable Gothic Revival style and the result was an outstanding building of great architectural interest. The main building is octagonal in design with a fine tower which is a particular mark of the Earl’s generosity. The building has a lovely setting overlooking the River Orchy with views to Ben Cruachan and Ben Lui. Many of the messages left in the Visitor’s Book remark on the tranquillity of the building, making it perfect for worship and prayer.

Graveyard There are a wide range of monuments in the graveyard which surrounds the church, with dates from the 15th century on. Medieval knights, skulls and crossbones, and modern illustrations of shepherds and even a local garage can all be found. Many clans and families are represented, chief among them being Campbells, Macgregors, MacIntyres and Macnabs. Visitors The church is open daily and a colour guidebook and history, a leaflet setting out a short tour and postcards are available for purchase.
